At
Gallery Auctions,
we
make bidding and buying a fun and rewarding experience. Although most of
our business is for the trade, we welcome anyone to come in and experience
one of our auctions first-hand.
Are
you ready to jump in and bid? Before you do, keep these points in mind:
-
You
pay as you go. At an auction,
there's a no-return policy. You pay before you leave. Of course, if a
first-timer makes a mistake, we'll work with him.
- Preview
the merchandise. If you find an auction
that doesn't have preview time, you probably shouldn't shop there. Gallery
Auctions has an open-door policy. People can visit Monday through Friday,
look around, and see what's incoming and outgoing.
-
Attend
a few auctions before you start buying.
Become familiar with hearing the auctioneer's chant. Get a feel
for what you might want to buy.
-
Look
over the items carefully because
they are sold for better for worse, "as is, where is."
-
Be
ready to hold up your hand
if you want to participate in the bidding. There's about a minute of rapid-fire
bidding, from the time that auctioning an item begins to the time that
it's sold. Keep in mind the value of the item and your limit, but don't
lose it for the price of a couple of Domino's pizzas.
-
And
when you're the high-bidder?
Gallery Auctions is just like any store. You can pay with cash check or
credit card.
