William “Bill” Noack of Waller and Field Store, Texas, spent decades building a remarkable collection of antique cash registers, country store memorabilia, Americana, and advertising pieces through estate sales, roadside discoveries, auctions, and conversations with people across Texas and beyond.
Raised in a hardworking family that operated both a beer joint and grocery store, Bill developed an early appreciation for history, craftsmanship, and the stories behind everyday objects. He often said his favorite finds came from “the junkiest places,” where hidden treasures and forgotten history could still be uncovered.
A longtime landscaping business owner, Bill became fascinated with antique National cash registers after purchasing his first register in a small Texas antique store — beginning a lifelong passion that led him to search barns, old stores, estate sales, and even make buying trips to Ohio in pursuit of rare examples.
His collection reflects not only a love of Americana and country store history, but also a lifetime of curiosity, hard work, and connection with people and their stories.
